William M. Gleason, Sr., 84, of Springfield died at 7:15 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2004 at St. John’s Hospital. William was born May 17, 1919 in Petersburg, IL the son of William M. and Ida Cluck Gleason. He married Harriett L. Drennan on November 1, 1947 in Springfield. Mr. Gleason was a graduate of Carrollton High School in Carrollton, IL. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was employed at Sears Roebuck and Company retiring in 1984 after 37 years of service. Mr. Gleason was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Harriett of Springfield; sons: William M. Gleason, Jr. (wife, Linda), and Michael A. (wife, Cheryl) Gleason both of Springfield; daughters: Carolyn L. Kikendall (husband, Kevin) of Decatur, Dara L. Imlay (husband, Thomas) of House Springs, MO and Jacqueline D. Pitchford of Springfield; ten grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Remains were cremated. No memorial services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905. The family of William M.
