He was born on August 5, 1939, in Springfield, the son of the late Elwill and Pauline (Jokisch) Hagen. He married Tonia Danenberger on June 9, 1962 in Rockford, IL.
Bill was the chief photographer for the State Journal Register newspaper in Springfield for 46 years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of the NPPA (National Press Photographers’ Association).
He is survived by his wife Tonia Hagen of Springfield; a daughter Tiffani (husband Chris) Caudle of Springfield; 2 grandchildren, Caitlyn Hagen and Kyle Hagen; 1 great-grandchild Eva Shiplett; 1 sister Jean (husband John) Machen of Marietta, GA; 1 brother Fred (wife Shirley) Hagen of Pleasant Plains, IL; his mother-in-law Helen Danenberger; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 son Eric Hagen.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill, Springfield. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. No services are scheduled.
