

William E. ''Bill'' Kremitzki Sr., 73, of Petersburg, formerly of Springfield, passed away at 2:55 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2002 at Memorial Medical Center. William was born May 17, 1928 in Springfield, the son of Henry and Mable Shedd Kremitzki. He married Helen Wanless on July 15, 1950 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Mr. Kremitzki, as a resident of Springfield had spent most of his life as an Operating Engineer for the Secretary of State through Operating Engineer's Local 365 and was also a carpenter through Local 16. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, a graduate of Springfield High School, Class of '46, a member of Abe Lincoln Gun Club and the National Rifle Association (NRA). He was an avid hunter, he had coached baseball in the Khoury League, a Republican Precinct Committeeman for about ten years, a member of American Legion in Petersburg. He was also a member of the United States Camero Club and a veteran of the Marines. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Henry and two sisters, Imelda and Nancy He is survived by his wife, Helen of Petersburg; four sons: Alan (wife, Mary Lynn) of Springfield, William E. Jr. (wife, Lisa) of Rochester, Mark (wife, Marian) of Springfield, John of Springfield; two daughter: Janet (husband, Patrick) Brennan of Springfield, Monica (husband, Chris) Strom of Mooresville, NC; sixteen grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; one brother: Robert (wife, Marlene) of Springfield; one sister: Della Coker of San Antonio, TX; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 5-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2002, visitation will begin at with a wake service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2002 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Reverend John Titus celebrant. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail will conduct military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Midwest Region or the World War II Memorial in Springfield. The family of William E.
