Wilma Gardner Wilson

She was born April 17, 1915 in Farmingdale, IL, the daughter of Hiram Edwin and Agnes Bottorff Gardner. On Jan. 17, 1934 she married William Warren Wilson in Litchfield.

Wilma was a graduate of Lincoln Land Community College. She was the owner of Wilson’s Daycare and Preschool for 37 years. She was a long time member of West Side Christian Church where she was a Sunday school teacher in the primary department for 37 years. Mrs. Wilson was also a member of Capital Area Preschool Association.

She is survived by a daughter, Jean Wilson Bond (husband, Edward) of Springfield; granddaughter, Lisa Manley Huffman-Sokal (husband, Doug) of Virginia, IL; great grandson, Domer J. Huffman, IV of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter Carolyn Manley Fordonski.

Visitation will be held Sat. March 1, 2014 starting at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Farmington Cemetery in Farmingdale, IL.
