Barbara Barbie J. Olson Fraker

Barbara Jean Olson Fraker, 82, died at Fair Oaks Hospital on September 28, 2011 of natural causes. Barbara was born in Seattle, Washington and graduated in 1947 from Jefferson High School in Portland, Oregon. She began her work career in civil service which took her to Germany where she met her husband, Cyrus H. Fraker, who predeceased her in 2002. The Frakers moved to Northern Virginia in 1962. Barbara was a stay-at-home mother until her youngest was in middle school, when she began her career in banking. She was very involved in her children's lives and in her volunteer services at Springfield United Methodist Church and Springboard Pool. Barbara and Cyrus greatly enjoyed travel and attending Olney Theater, Kennedy Center and Wolf Trap. Barbara spent a couple of years in Sarasota, Florida with her daughter and family, before she returned to Virginia and made her residence at Sunrise of Springfield.

Beloved wife of the late Cyrus H. Fraker, she is survived by her brother, Gerald Olson and his wife, Mary Lou of Portland, Oregon, her son, Peter A. Fraker and his wife, Jennie, of Herndon, Virginia, her daughter, Janet G. Fraker Hannah, her husband, David, and two grandsons, Christian and Cyrus, of Sarasota, Florida, and many cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as devoted friends.
