

She was born on March 9, 1937 in Buffalo NY. Barbara attended Holy Angels Academy and Wells College. She was predeceased by her husband, CDR Dennis K. Wilson, USN (Ret) and her sister, Debbie Stiker. She especially enjoyed traveling and meeting new people, and was able to do both during her husband's naval career, while stationed at Newport RI, Pearl Harbor HI, Halifax NS, Groton CT, Philadelphia PA, Buffalo NY, Virginia Beach VA, and Brooklyn NY. Upon retirement, they lived in Amherst NH. In 1990, they moved to Northern Virginia.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Wilson and his wife Helen, Andrew Wilson and his wife Karen, and Sarah Weingast and her husband Shawn, grandchildren Dennis, Nicholas, Jacob, Hannah, Kadie, Adin, Wilson, and Rebecca, as well as her sisters, Melissa Ryan and Trisha Gerace and her brother, Anthony Downey.
She played competitive tennis multiple times a week until recently and was active in the Watergate at Landmark community, including the Recreation Committee. She was an avid reader and was actively involved in her local libraries. Most importantly to her, she loved participating in the lives of all of her grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Rd., Springfield, VA 22151 on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 to 1:00 pm. A burial will be scheduled for the spring at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo NY.

Box 604, Moultonborough, NH 03254). The Loon Preservation Committee runs the Loon Center in Moultonborough NH, where she delighted in taking her grandchildren.
