It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cometta “Connie” Vincenzes, 87, of Rostraver Township, Pennsylvania. Connie passed away December 17th, 2021 after her battle with cancer. Connie was born August 26th, 1934 to her mother Emma (Bucci) and father Raniero Mattozzi in Monessen, Pennsylvania.
While serving in the Women's Army Corp, she met the love of her life and married Philip James “Butch” Vincenzes. The couple had two sons, Philip and Mark, who currently reside in Northern Virginia. Connie and Butch lived and loved the “military life”. In their early years they had some great opportunities to travel around the world raising their family, and ultimately settled in Alexandria, Virginia. Connie was well known and appreciated, and had many friends and acquaintances. In 2003, after the passing of her husband, Butch (1998), she moved back to Pennsylvania to be near her sister and brother and lived happily there.
Connie was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was known for her enormous generosity, sense of style, her signature smell (Clinique Aromatics), and her ability to instantly light up a room with her presence. Connie was genuine and offered her friendship to everyone she met. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Connie is survived by her sister Yolanda, her sons Philip and Mark, her seven grandchildren: Brent, Tony, Becky, Jennifer, Rachael, Isabella and Gabrielle, seven great-grandchildren, and two amazing daughters-in-law, Cecilia and Christine.
A memorial/visitation with the family is being held for Connie on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, Virginia.
