Craig Spencer is the son of Claude and Carroll Ann Ellis and was born January 28, 1974, in Wichita, Kansas. Craig was a military kid who lived in Germany, England, and various areas throughout the nation. He attended West Springfield High School and later Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University. Craig enjoyed numerous jobs and positions throughout his lifetime which reflected his interests. His most significant work was conducted at CETECH, Inc where he worked closely with his father, the late Col. Claude Ellis JR and CETECH CEO, as Director of Human Resources. Craig belonged to a host of organizations and embraced the concept of helping others through volunteer efforts and generous charitable contributions. He was particularly committed to the Children's Inn at the National Institutes of Health which provides research, health and healing for children worldwide.
Craig was a fisherman who deeply treasured solitude. He loved the solemnity of time spent on and near water, which he was blessed to do in his worldly travels. The catch of the day was almost always returned to the sea, but not before the photograph which confirmed that he had indeed caught the big one. He was an avid bowler who also enjoyed soccer, basketball and especially the Dallas Cowboys. Craig was loyal to his many friends who were from diverse backgrounds and cultures. His sense of humor was sharp and infectious. His gusto for living was strong. He was fiercely loyal, easy to love and most protective of his mother following the death of his father.
Craig is survived by his mother, Carroll Ann Ellis, thirteen Aunts and Uncles and a host of cousins.
Memorials may be given to The Children's Inn at NIH. Link Below
Craig's family wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to his dear and close friends who were with him until the end.
