David A. Eggleston

Dave (Age 70), Springfield, VA On Monday, April 29, Dave Eggleston, loving husband, father, brother, and friend transitioned from this world. He is survived by his wife, Suzie, his son, Alex, his siblings, Jimmy, Susie, Ronnie, Sandra, and Scott, and all his nieces and nephews. Dave is a gentle soul, kind, caring, and always there for those in time of need. He was dedicated to his son’s extracurricular activities, serving as assistant scoutmaster for his son’s Boy Scout Troop and treasurer for his son’s indoor color guard unit. Dave was an avid sportsman. Beginning with his father’s role in the formation of the Springfield Boys Club in the early 1960’s, Dave played youth football and basketball. He was acknowledged as one of the best defensive backs and safeties during his time playing football at Robert E. Lee High School. He bowled in leagues throughout Springfield and Burke for over 50 years, played Adult League Softball with his “Brews Brothers” and friends, and continued his commitment by coaching his son’s little league baseball teams. He was a lifelong Washington Redskins fan. He formed and acted as Commissioner of the B&G Fantasy Football League for 15 years. Dave served his church as president of the board of directors and other committees. He always went above and beyond in whatever service he provided for individuals and organizations to which he was affiliated. Dave led with his heart in all endeavors. He loved animals. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dave’s name to any animal rescue organization.
