Col. Edmond H. Farrington died in Marietta, GA on 4 August 2011. The son of MG Edmond H. and Ruth Farrington Leavey, he was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, 15 November 1920. He graduated from the US Military Academy, Class of ‘42 and served as an army engineer in Europe in WWII and during the Korean War. Following the war years he served in a variety of engineer and artillery postings until his retirement in 1967. He then worked as an engineer advisor for Kerr-McGee Corporation for several years. He was an avid golfer and active USMA '42 alumni. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty years Mary Frances Anderson Farrington. He is survived by three daughters: Catharine Haukedahl (Mark), Minneapolis, MN, Alice Duke (Jon), Vicksburg, MS, Mary Taylor (Tony), Atlanta GA, and four grandchildren. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Tuesday November 29, 2011 at 3:00 pm.
