Of Springfield, VA, departed suddenly on Sunday, December 15. Beloved wife of 61 years to Champ A. Middleton. Loving mother of Champ Clark (Margaret) Middleton, Gregory Middleton, Jo Anna (Dean) Balamaci, Timothy (Karen Lee) Middleton, Theresa (Richard) Shipe, and Vicki (Lester) Wilkerson. Also survived by ten grandchildren: Karen and Candice Middleton, Robert and Shannon Middleton, Kathryn and Matthew Balamaci, Alexis Wilkerson, Diana Casillo, Richard and Victoria Shipe; brothers Alvin, John, James and Robert Hawthorne; sisters Ada Abernathy, Dorothy Peregoy, and Sandra Raftery and their families. She was preceded in death by brothers Billy and Wayne Hawthorne and sisters Bessie Horton, Elsie Bademan, and Patricia Rice. Friends welcome on Friday, December 20 from 10 am - 12 pm at the Demaine Funeral Home, Backlick and Edsall Roads, Springfield. Interment at Mt. Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, to follow.
