Evelyn Nix Thomas

Evelyn Thomas, 91, resident of Fairfax County and Heartfields of Fredericksburg, Va. passed away peacefully the morning of April 16th.

She was preceded in death by her husband Col. Charles Thomas (2002) and daughter Pamela Jarvis (2007). She is survived by her daughter Charlotte (Sherri) Kenski(Larry) and son Tom Thomas, her grandchildren Tom Herndon (Liz), TJ Ball (Lauren) ,Kendall, Jack, and great grandchildren Lilla and Colton, her brother Melvin Nix,extended Family members including Charlene Gardner and Karen Thomas,and all her Alabama relatives.

She was a dedicated military wife and steadfastly supported her husband while he completed college.She followed her husband through 3 wars with most of their time spent in France and Ft Eustis Va. She loved sports (Roll Tide!), southern cooking, travel, Nascar , the beach, crocheting and most of all, Bridge. She had a love of life, flip flops and her white nails! She was a mentor to many young military wives . She always remained composed and fashionable, She was born and bred Bama!

Viewing will be held at Demaines, in Springfield Va. on May 12th, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Judes or Wounded Warrior Project in Memory of Evelyn Thomas.
