Frederic Ernest Beck Jr.

May 7, 1926- September 28, 2016

On September 28, 2016 Frederic E. Beck, Jr died from congestive heart failure at Brookdale Senior Living Woodbridge, VA. He was married for 65 years to the love of his life, Nancy Beck (aka, Gwen and/or Eleanor) before she was called home in September of last year. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Beck, Joanne Craft and Susan Beck, by his son, David Beck. He is also survived by son-in-law James Craft Jr. and his daughter-in-law, Linda Beck. In addition he has was grandfather to Jennifer Andreani and her husband, Trey, James P. Craft III, Brian Beck and his wife Emily, Nicole Beck and Michael Beck and great grandfather to Vincent and Alexander Andreani and to Raleigh and Jackson Beck.

Fred graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1950 and rose to the rank of Commander prior to retiring from active duty in 1976. He was a decorated Naval officer earning the Navy Commendation Medal, WW II Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal w/Bronze Star and the United Nations Service Medal. His wife was a former Naval nurse whom he met while she was on assignment at the Naval Academy. After the Navy, Fred went to work for Technology Services Corporation and stayed there until he retired in 1995.

Fred will be interred in Arlington Cemetery at a yet to be determined date.

The family requests that donations be made to the St. Andrew's Building Fund in lieu of flowers.
