

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Blanche M. Young; his parents, Harry and May Young; his brother, John Young; and sisters, Alice Clark and Mildred Richardson.
Harry was born in Washington, D.C. and later moved to Falls Church, Virginia. Most recently, for the past nine years, he lived at the Hermitage in Alexandria. Harry retired from Pepco where he worked for 33 years in the print department. He was an advisor to a candidate for the Mayor of Washington D.C. Harry was the owner and editor of the Foggy Bottom News, which was a monthly publication that was distributed to the residents in Foggy Bottom.
He was a Past Commander of the George S. Patton Tank Corp, Post #19 for the American Legion and was active in the Virginia Republican party. He was also a former Grand Master of the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows Lodge. Harry had a great interest in the stock market and attended an investment club that met monthly. He had many hobbies which included collecting and recording music, assembling electronics and working on the computer.
Harry will be remembered for his outgoing personality and love of family and friends.
Family will receive friends at 11am on July 11, 2018 until the time of service at 12pm at Demaine Funeral Home 5308 Backlick Road Springfield, VA. Interment will be at 2pm on July 11, 2018 at Quantico National Cemetery.
