On November 21, 2018, passed away in Arlington, VA. Helen was survived by her five children, Aileen (David) Alex, Nick (Debbi) Alex, Mary Alex, James (Sarah) Alex, Richard (Kathleen) Alex, eight grand children and one great-grand child.
Helen graduated from Saint Rose College in Albany, NY, with degree in Mathematics. She was a pioneer as a woman working in the Computer Science field in the early 1950s. Later in life she achieved a Masters Degree in Information Systems from American University in Washington, D.C. and then had a successful career working for the Federal Government. Helen was passionate about her faith and was a dedicated member of Saint Bernadette Catholic Church in Springfield, Virginia. Helen was an engaged mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an outgoing person who loved being with family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at Saint Bernadette Catholic Church on November 28th at Noon, followed by burial at Fairfax Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Washington Humane Rescue Alliance.
