Jim was an early riser who knew the value of a hard day's work. He took pride in all of the many construction projects all over the DC and surrounding areas that he had a hand in building. He always had a construction story about a particular structure that you drove past with him. While he worked hard his whole life, he also took time to live adventurously, sky diving and white water rafting even in his later years. In retirement, he gained a passion for collecting golf balls and bringing them back to life. And he always made time for his family and friends, sharing stories and laughter with all those close to him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela; sister, Betty Falls; and daughter, Laura Lumpkin.
He is survived by his son, Craig Woodruff and wife, Tina; stepdaughter, Jessica Gossett and husband, Zak Elyazgi; grandchildren: Seth Koch, Rebecca Woodruff, Katelyn Lumpkin, Michael Lumpkin, Kamila Elyazgi, Jannah Elyazgi, Jibreel Elyazgi, Amin Elyazgi; great-granddaughter, Kalyn Koch; and niece, Beth Otis.
Due to safety precautions, arrangements for a "celebration of life" may be determined at a later date.
