Janice A. Murensky

Janice Mildred Addair Murensky of Lakewood, CO and formerly of Springfield, VA passed away on September 24, 2017 in a Lakewood hospital following a brief illness. Mildred was born January 27,1938 in Bartley, WV to the late John H. and Ira Mae Hooker Addair. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Concord College (University) in Athens, WV and retired from the Fairfax County, VA School System in 1990.

Mildred will be remembered for her life long devotion to her family, dedication to her teaching profession, her willingness to help friends and neighbors, her creativity, keen sense of humor and outgoing personality.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Murensky; brothers, Robert Grayson Addair and Jack Douglas Addair, Sr.; niece Michelle Vinciguerra, nephews, Jack Douglas Addair, Jr. and Joey Murensky. She is survived by daughter, Cathie Murensky, Ph.D and husband Robert Manard of Lakewood, CO; son, Mark Murensky of Winterville, NC; grandchildren Nicole Manard and Josh and Jake Murensky; brother, Joseph Addair and wife Gail of Bandon, OR; sisters, Joyce Vinciguerra of Ashland, KY, Linda Perdue and husband Richard of Roanoke, VA and Wanda Crawford of Huntington, WV and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 5121 Woodland Way, Annandale, VA with Father John M. O'Donohue officiating. Burial will follow in Fairfax Memorial Park 9900 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA.
