Jean Murray Fregeau

Jean Murray Fregeau, of Springfield, Virginia, formerly of Annandale, died peacefully on October 4, 2024 in Springfield at the age of 94. She was the loving wife of the late Jerome H. Fregeau, who passed away in 1994.

Jean is survived by her daughters Elizabeth “Betty” (Gary) Wu of Ardmore, Pennsylvania; Annette (Carl) Conover of Xenia, Ohio; and Nancy (Don) Gallagher of Hopkinton, Massachusetts; her grandchildren Steven (Kelly) Wu of Seattle, Washington; Katherine “Katie” Wu of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Sarah Gallagher and Karen Gallagher both of Hopkinton, Massachusetts; her great-granddaughter Charlotte Wu of Seattle, Washington; and her sisters Nancy Atria of Indian Hills, Colorado and Rita Anselmo-Nanney of Phoenix, Arizona She was predeceased by her brother J. Bruce Murray.

She was born in Michigan on November 29, 1929 to the late John R. Murray and Maribel (Fuller) Murray. She met her husband Jerry at the University of Michigan. They were married in 1959 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, before moving to Annandale where they raised their family. Jean was a long-time member of Annandale United Methodist Church. Jean’s family was the most important thing to her and she will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday June 28, 2025 ar 10:00 AM at, Annandale United Methodist Church Little White Chapel, 6935 Columbia Pike, Annandale, VA 22003. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Greenspring Staff Appreciation Fund, Greenspring Village Scholars' Fund, or a charity of your choosing.
