Joan Barbara Fisher

Joan Barbara Fisher, age 80 of Springfield, Virginia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. Joan was born June 5, 1934 in Delaware to the late Louis and Alice (née Johnston) Caruso, Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Caruso & Kevin Caruso.

Joan is survived by seven devoted children, Richard Fisher & wife Melissa, Kathleen Fisher, Francis Fisher, Mary-Carole Fisher, Joseph Fisher, Sr. & wife Patricia, Nancy Brown & husband Stephen, & Janice Lebahn & husband Paul; Thirteen adoring grandchildren, Jane Hulburt, Jill Fleet, Heather Fisher-Clarke, J.T. Fisher, Christopher Brown, Erick Fisher, Nicholas Brown, Alex Fisher, Andrew Brown, Sam Lebahn, Kyle Lebahn, Jack Lebahn, & Gabriel Lebahn; Seven cherished great grandchildren, Noah Fisher, Benjamin Hulburt, Carolyn Hulburt, Hank Fleet, Duke Fleet, Nash Fleet, & Lydia Joan Clarke. Joan is also survived by four brothers, Louis Caruso III, James Caruso, Paul Caruso, & Steven Caruso.

The Fisher family will receive friends Monday, October 27, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at the Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22152 where a Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 7401 St. Michael Lane, Annandale, VA 22003. Interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s name to the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington, 3838 Cathedral Lane, Arlington, VA 22203
