Lorna was born in Barnby, England on February 24th, 1922 to George and Ada Baxter. She was the youngest of four brothers and four sisters, all of whom are deceased. She worked as a nurse’s aide in a mental Hospital during WWII. She met her husband Frank A. She moved to the US in 1946 with her son to join her husband Frank in Cleveland, Ohio cautiously crossing the Atlantic on the USS Huddleston following a minesweeper on their 14 day journey.
In Cleveland, Lorna worked part-time at a company that made storm doors and later became a full-time housewife. During the summers she would accompany Frank to help build their summer home in Canada.
In 1976 after the death of her husband, she moved to Virginia where she lived with Michael and Pinky and family until her passing.
She was a devoted wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and was loved by countless who had the chance to know her. She would greet everyone with her favorite saying “Very nice to meet you…just call me Gram”.
All who were fortunate to meet her, immediately knew she was a loving, generous and gracious lady. She was our best friend and will forever be the Matriarch and "Queen Mother" of the Malovic/Basse families.
