Marion was born in Nanticoke, PA to Isabel and David Van Horn on June 2, 1929. She was married to Verne Evans for over 50 years before his death in 2005. She attended Wyoming Seminary for some college courses before moving to Virginia with her husband. She initially worked as a secretary for several federal government agencies before taking a break to start a family. After some time she went back to work part time as a financial assistant. This part time work enabled her to time to be there for her family.
In addition to her husband, Marion is preceded in death by two of her children – Faye Diane and Keith David.
Marion is survived by her daughter Gaye Evans and her much loved granddaughter Kayla Diane Evans
Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on September 1, 2021 at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Springfield, VA. Burial will be at 10 am on September 2, 2021 at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Alexandria, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
