Martha was born in Chicago, IL, to Anna and William Fowler on July 17, 1947. She attended Our Lady Help of Christians grammar school and Siena High School in Chicago and graduated from DePaul University. She married David R. Campbell on February 20, 1971. She was an elementary school teacher for more than 35 years, teaching in Chicago; Colorado Springs, CO; Lawton, OK; Sögel, West Germany; Ames, IA; Khamis Mushayt, Saudi Arabia; and Woodbridge, VA.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents.
Martha is survived by her spouse, David Campbell; sister, Louise Fowler (Tom Hart); brother, William Fowler (Lisa); nephews, Thomas (Jamie), Gregory (fiancée Michelle), and Robert (fiancée Brooke) Hart; honorary niece, Kirstin Sipes; sisters-in-law Patricia Purdy and Jean Campbell; brother-in-law, Richard Campbell; and several other nieces and nephews.
A wake will be held on Wednesday, May 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Bernadette Catholic Church, 7600 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield, VA, with Father James of Saint Bernadette officiating.
