Maureen D. Matricardi

On December 5, 2013, Maureen passed away at her home in Springfield, Virginia after a valiant fight with breast cancer. She was predeceased by her daughter, Kristin Anne Matricardi. She is survived by her husband, Edmund A. Matricardi Jr,, son, Edmund A. Matricardi III and wife, Terese, daughter, Michelle Gordon and husband, David, sister, Patricia Deegan, brother, Michael Deegan, brother in law, Carl Matricardi and wife Joanne, sister in law Molly Symington and husband Charles, nieces, Lenore Weiman and husband John, Marykate Leibman, Kerianne Leibman, Anna Matricardi, Cara Reese and husband Christopher, and Danielle Matricardi, nephew, Charles E. Symington, Jr. and wife Cathy, grandchildren, Mary-Caroline Matricardi, Marie-Clare Matricardi, Jefferson Taylor Matricardi, Maureen Gordon and Robert Gordon and mother-in-law, Gloria Matricardi. Maureen was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, co-worker and friend. For almost 40 years, Maureen tirelessly managed her husband’s law firm and supported the Greater Springfield community where she touched the lives of so many people with her generous heart and spirit. A gathering of family and friends will take place at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 7600 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield, Virginia 22152 on Saturday, December 14, 2013 from noon to 1:30pm followed by a Catholic Funeral Mass at 1:30pm. She will be buried alongside her beloved daughter, Kristin, at Quantico National Cemetery on Monday, December 16, 2013, at 11am, on what would have been her 46th wedding anniversary.
