Michael Edward Blake

Michael Edward Blake (Age 63) On February 27, 2013 at his residence in Springfield, VA. Beloved brother of Kathryn Brown (Arlington, VA) and William Blake(Bethesda, MD) and loving uncle to Brown and Blake nieces and nephew. He earned his degree in architecture from the University of Notre Dame and was awarded a full scholarship to Carnegie-Mellon University where he earned a Master’s Degree and served as member of the faculty. During his career Michael held positions in design and project management. For many years he taught in the Catholic Diocese of Arlington religious education program for special needs students. (SPRED) A visitation will be held at 11am, March 4, 2013 at St. Raymond of Peña fort Catholic Church, 8750 Pohick Rd., Springfield, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 noon. Interment will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Tenafly, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Michael’s name to the Catholic Diocese of Arlington SPRED Program, c/o Nadine Hallums, Director, 200 North Glebe Rd., Arlington, VA 22203.
