Ms. Few (1950-2020) passed away on December 26, 2020 in Springfield, Virginia. Born and reared in Dayton, Ohio; a member of Dunbar High School, Class of 1968. Preceded in death by her parents, Richard Few and Helen Thomas Few; her former husband of 20 years, Clifford Rankin and four brothers. Born a Buckeye but destined to travel the world. Sharon, Clifford, and their two loving children, Lishelle and Derrick, lived in many states. Her favorite adventure was living in Italy for nearly three years. She welcomed living among the local Italians in their neighborhood, learning the language, going to the beaches, and meeting lifelong friends. Sharon was athletic; she played volleyball and softball on several female military teams. A Colonel nicknamed her - Willie Mays. Sharon also loved the New York Yankees; she watched them play in Detroit and Boston. She was a bowler who participated in local and Vegas tournaments. Her spiritual journey began in childhood. Later, she taught Sunday school while living in Italy, which gave her further insight into her relationship with God. Her greatest loves were: God, her children, grandson, and advocating for children's rights as a Guardian ad Litem in court. She was a writer, poet, and storyteller. Sharon won two local story contest, and was a semi-finalist in Ebony's Annual Literary Contest, 2009. She was a member of Bailey's Senior Book Club. Her favorite poet was Poe; her most loved poem was "The Creation" by James Weldon Johnson. Obtaining two college degrees in Criminal Justice and Paralegal, while loving and rearing her children in a military environment. Our beloved mother loved music, dancing, and roller skating, especially, to the Sounds of Motown. The Temptations will always be her favorite group and "My Girl" her most loved song. Sharon leaves to cherish her life: Lishelle and Derrick Rankin, her loving children; Grandson Jaden; six sisters, Teresa, Donna, Jewel, Dola, Zena, Benita; five brothers, Richard., Ashley, Louis, Anthony, Darrel; many cousins(Dana), nieces, nephews, special friends; Donna Pitts, Mary and Joe, members of Bailey's Seniors group, church members, every child who entered her life. We wish to thank: Her doctors, Manpreet Singh, Michael Eblan; the staff from Vitas Healthcare; her Facebook family and friends. Ms Few's message to her love ones: "Mourn me not for I am free; God is standing next to me." In lieu of flowers the family request that you donate to the Multiple Myeloma Society
