Nancy Joan MacDonald

Nancy Joan MacDonald, 81 Our beautiful Nancy left us on April 13, 2018 to be with the Lord. Nancy was born in Washington DC in a hospital named for a President. She rose from poverty, became a nurse, joined the army, married, had three children and throughout her life she gave us the example of someone who never gives up. We called her the comeback kid because nothing could destroy her. She left us just the way she wanted to, in her sleep and in peace. Nancy is survived by her best friend, Audrey Dillman; her children, David (Karen) Farson, Rick (Helen) Farson, and Sandra (Roberto) Rico; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 18 from 10-11 a.m. at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Rd, Springfield, VA, where a Celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will occur on Thursday, April 19 at 10 a.m. at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 2201 N. Capitol St NW, Washington, DC, 20002. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Nancy’s name to the Humane Society.
