
He went to school at Excelsior School in Jamaica where he was a Track Star & Record Setting Cricket Bowler at Excelsior. He came to the United States at the age of 18. He joined the US Air Force in 1962 and achieved the rank of Senior Airman. In College he got his Bachelors Degree from LIU Brooklyn and MBA in Marketing from St. John’s University. MBA in Marketing from St. John’s University. He was Married to his first wife Ann for 9 years and had two children: Anthony & Denise. After Divorce he remarried to Millie on December 10, 1978. Their union lasted 46 years and sired one child Serena. Patrick worked in Advertising sales. He was one of the first African American high level managers at USATODAY during his time there. When Print Advertising ran the world he worked for some of the biggest companies in the world. Time & Redbook Magazine to name a few. He became a beloved and prominent Director of ad sales on the print & digital side. He tapped into his entrepreneurial side and with his partner and friend Clarence, they started Heart & Soul Publishing, where he was the EVP of Advertising Sales. Also was the Principal owner of Patrick H. Detry & Associates, LLC. He was an active member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Springfield, Virginia. He had a great love for the New York Yankees & Jets. A deep passion for playing Tennis, enjoying a nice glass of Rum or trying a new IPA beer. Traveling, laughing, and spending time with family.
SURVIVORS: Wife: Milagros (Millie) Detry. Children: Anthony P. Detry and his wife Donna of Brooklyn. Denise M. Joseph and her husband Jereme of Maryland. Serena Giron and her husband Angel. Granddaughters: Dylan Detry, Natalya Giron. Brother George Littlejohn in Brooklyn (George's daughter Ila Littlejohn Gordon and husband Courtney in Alabama) & Sister Joan.

A visitation will be held at Demaine Funeral Home, located at 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151, on November 19, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Another visitation is scheduled at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 7600 Old Keene Mill Rd, Springfield, VA 22152, on November 20, 2025, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at the same location from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
The committal service will take place at the National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico, 18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, VA 22172, on November 20, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
