

Born May 1, 1947, in Howell Michigan, Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Bonnie B. Bowman, his daughters Karen Cohen and her husband Steve of Union, NJ, Bridget Bowman of Gilford, VT, Tammy Breaux and her husband Ralph of Aldie, VA and his only son Roger Bowman Jr. of Springfield, VA. He is also survived by his sisters, Sharon Hurley and her husband Larry, Marie Bowman, and his brothers, Donald Bowman Jr. and his wife Connie, Thomas Bowman, and Peter Bowman, as well as his grandchildren, Deanna, Jeremy, Alex, Sasha, Cheyenne, Jacob, and Sophia. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, Donald Bowman, his mother Alice Bowman and his brothers John Bowhall and Darel Bowman.
A dedicated husband, father, Papa, and friend Roger honorably served his country as a soldier in the U.S. Army, with tours in Vietnam, Germany, and here at home. Big Rog was always a dedicated hard worker until retired when he then became an avid casino visitor and scratch-off ticket extraordinaire.
Roger’s unwavering faith was steadfast throughout his life and his spirit unyielding but perhaps his most cherished legacy was his servant’s heart. Always ready to lend a helping hand, share a story or five and if you needed something done that he couldn’t do, he knew a guy…. Roger’s spirit will forever linger in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him!
A viewing will be on Monday, June 17th, 2024, 5-8 pm, Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 18th 2024, 10 am (Demaine Funeral Home, Springfield VA) immediately following he will be laid to rest at Quantico National Cemetery at 1 pm.
