On Monday, January 11, 2021, Ronda Koslow passed away at the age of 81 from COVID-19 related complications. Ronda was born on December 2, 1939 in Augusta, ME to Adolph and Dorothy Stanbury. On June 11, 1961, she married Joel Koslow. They raised three sons, Andrew, Geoff, and Barry. She was our star, the glue that held the family together through good times and difficult times.
Ronda spent many years as a medical assistant and office manager for her husband’s medical practice. She had a passion for painting that she got from her father. Ronda volunteered as an art teacher for her children’s classes and delighted in helping kids get messy while playing with their art. One of her most memorable art projects was a 4’ x 10’ canvas that she painted orange, and then painted each of her children’s bare feet and had them walk the length, leaving footprints across the canvas. This masterpiece hung in their home for many years. She was known for her friendly demeanor, her generosity, and her kind and compassionate spirit.
Ronda was preceded in death by her father, Adolph, her mother, Dorothy, her stepfather Jerome Fischgrund, stepsister Paula Weinstock and grandson William. She is survived by her husband Joel, her three children Andrew, Geoff, and Barry, her brothers Jerry and Gene, grandchildren Shay, Erin, David, Josephine, and Elliot, great-grandson Mateo, daughter in laws, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held later this year. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ronda’s name to Doctors Without Borders USA.
