

On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Sharon Lee Cramer Bailey, beloved wife and mother, passed away and went to be with the Lord at the age of 81. She was born in Georgetown, Washington D.C. on October 22, 1943. Her family moved to Arlington County, Virginia in the early fifties and to Fairfax County, Virginia in the mid-fifties. She attended Fairfax County grade schools and Falls Church High School.
Upon graduation from high school, she attended Mary Washington University at Fredericksburg, Virginia, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology. The last year of study was completed at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. In her career she was employed at Sibley Hospital in Washington D.C., Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA and Dewitt Army Hospital at Fort Belvoir, VA.
At the birth of her first son, Michael, in December 1974, she retired from her medical career. A second son, Andy, was born in June 1977. She was very active in supporting her sons, volunteering as classroom assistant, playground monitor, and attending as many of their grade school and high school sporting events as possible. She always made time for them.
She joined the Annandale United Methodist Church in 1985 and became active in church life. For many years she faithfully served on committees such as Communion steward, visitation, and was active in the United Methodist Women.
She had a strong interest in family genealogy, often traveling with her husband to do research in distant states. She was adamant about being accurate and documenting her results. She shared scrapbooking and various crafts with her mother and sister.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Roy Daniel Bailey, her son Michael Roy Bailey and his wife Tiffinie Sue, her sister Lona Dawn Cramer McConn and her husband James Wilson McConn, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son David Andrew Bailey, parents Ralph Porter Cramer and Ethel Evelyn Patton Cramer, and brother Ralph Wayne Cramer.
Throughout her life she always provided a loving and caring home for her family.
A visitation for Sharon will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Annandale United Methodist Church, 6935 Columbia Pike,, Annandale, Virginia 22003. An interment will occur Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 1:00 PM at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia 22042.
