

Tamecka was born on June 15, 1983, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Venasta Allen and Robert Gessel Jr. She graduated from Calallen High School in her hometown of Corpus Christi. At 18 eager to explore the world, she enlisted in the United States Air Force stationed at Scott Air Force Base, in Illinois , serving from 2001 to 2012. During her time in the military, she pursued higher education and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from George Mason University.
Early in her service, Tamecka fell in love with Terrance Brown, and together they welcomed their son, Devon Brown. Despite the challenges of military life and being deployed to Ramstein Air Base in Germany, where she was away from her son, Tamecka’s dedication to her family never wavered.
After her honorable discharge from the Air Force, Tamecka transitioned to civilian life and continued her career with the government. She achieved the significant milestone of obtaining her top-secret clearance, a testament to her dedication, integrity, and exceptional skills. This accomplishment enabled her to work in highly sensitive and crucial roles, contributing to national security with the same commitment and professionalism she demonstrated in the military. Two years after leaving the military, Tamecka fell in love with Erica Hardy. Their love blossomed, and they welcomed a beautiful daughter, Jurnee Allen, into their lives.
Tamecka was resilient, forgiving, loving, and compassionate. She was a trusted confidante to many and offered unwavering support to those she loved. She passionately taught the importance of healing and moving forward with a peaceful mind. Tamecka was known for her warm heart and generous spirit. Her love for her family and friends was evident in all she did. As a mother, she was nurturing and supportive, always placing her children’s needs above her own. Her bond with her sisters, mother, and cousin was a testament to her strong family values. Tamecka’s friends remember her as a loyal and dependable confidante, always ready with a listening ear and wise advice.
Outside of her professional life, Tamecka had a wide array of interests and hobbies. She was an avid traveler, always eager to explore new places and cultures. Tamecka was also an enthusiastic reader, she enjoyed art, music and playing games.
She leaves behind her 2 children, Devon Brown and Jurnee Allen, her mother, Venasta Allen; four sisters, Sandy Pratt, Tavia Ramseur, Georgia Williams, and Barbara Gessel and her stepfather, Charles Ramseur along with a special cousin, Vonnie Amey.
Tamecka is also survived by her closest friends: Latasha Lambert; Davita Hinton; Elaine Conway; Tasheka Westbury; LaToya Berryman and Aisya Hinson along with each person present today.
