
Theola “Tee” Clarke, 93, died at her home in Annandale, VA on June 18, 2012 after suffering a stroke. Beloved wife of the late Edward Hugh Clarke who predeceased her in 2009, she is survived by two daughters, Pamela Clarke Simpson of Annandale and Margaret Clarke Jacobson of Trout Lake, WA; two sons-in-law, Andrew Jacobson and George Baroniak; three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren: Danielle Bourdo, husband Mark, and children Calvin, Dane, and Aidan; Dane Jacobson and children Ty and KayLeigh; Darrin Jacobson and children Chase, Andrew, and Nathan; a brother, Walter Mortvedt of Story City, Iowa; a sister, Marie Risdal of Fort Salonga, NY; and many devoted friends and family.
Tee was born and raised in Story City, Iowa, met her husband at Iowa State University in Ames, and attended Lutheran and Presbyterian churches. She lived in the Portland, Oregon area for over 45 years. She was a home maker and enjoyed bridge, golf, knitting, crochet, and needlepoint. She volunteered as a chaperon for a senior travel group for many years and traveled worldwide; she donated many of her hand knit items to underprivileged children.
The family will announce services later this summer to be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church in Tigard, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp, 3001 Riverside Road, Story City, Iowa 50248-7573. The land for this Bible camp was donated by her parents, Osmund and Margaret Mortvedt from the adjoining farm.
