Vincent Lee Alger

Vince was born in Luray, Page County to Sadie Elizabeth Harrison and Jacob Ashby Alger on October 17, 1957. He and Cheryl Eddins have been love of life partners since June 1999 in Springfield, VA. He worked as a roofing mechanic for Davis Roofing for 30 years before he went into business on his own. Vince enjoyed camping on the Shenandoah River with his friends, motorcycles, building things with his hands, and taking care of Cheryl and their dogs. Recently he celebrated over 8 years sober.

Vince is preceded in death by his mother Sadie Elizabeth Harrison Proger and his father Jacob Ashley Alger.

Vince is survived by the love of his life for 27 years Cheryl Eddins, 2 brothers- Joseph Deavers and Jacob Ashby Alger Jr.; 4 sisters- Irene Elizabeth (Peggy) Harrison, Joyce Alger Turner, Cindy Barbare, and Patricia (Patty) Alger, and daughter Brandi Alger; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A private memorial and celebration will be held in the Spring by the family.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society of Fairfax County or any special organization that is dear to you.

Cheryl and Vince’s family wish to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at Virginia Cancer Society; his many nurses, aides, and social workers at Goodwin Hospice. We ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
