

On February 22, 2025, Warren A. Negri Jr. passed away in his residence in Fairfax, Virginia. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and dear brother. A presence in the community, Warren was a friend and mentor to many.
He was born to Poppy and Warren A. Negri Sr on March 25, 1948 in Danbury, Connecticut. He was an accomplished student athlete at Danbury High School where he was named second team All-State, All-FCIAC, and received twenty-five scholarship offers to play college football. He went on to play at the University of Rhode Island,where he was a three year starter and was honored many times by the Yankee Conference as an All-East team selection for player of the week. He received the Le Boet Memorial Award as outstanding senior student athlete and was later named to URI's 1960’s Team of the Decade. He played professionally in the CFL for the Montreal Alouettes (1971), and was invited to tryout for the New York Jets (1971), and the New England Patriots (1972).
A leader on and off the field, he had a remarkable ability to help others achieve their potential. At the University of Rhode Island, he gained his bachelor’s degree in finance, graduating in 1971. While at URI, he joined Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity where he made lifelong friends and worked to embody the values of friendship, leadership, and service throughout his life.
He began building his career in financial services after college with Northwestern Mutual. He moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, working in their home office and developing an internship program with the goal of helping others find their way into the industry. In 1983, he became the General Agent of the Washington Group where he built the agency into one of the top-performing financial services practices in the country. A recognized expert in his field, Warren consulted and provided leadership coaching and training to some of the top companies within his industry, including MassMutual, John Hancock, and Kyobo Life. He was also a proud and active member of GAMA.
Warren was passionate about mentorship, seeking always to understand others and help them grow. He spent years serving on the board of First Virginia Community Bank and as a Trustee of the University of Rhode Island Foundation. He was the founding COO of Polaris Energy Resources, Inc, and a Managing Partner of Performance Solutions, continuing to offer his expertise to others in impactful work.
While his professional and athletic achievements made for many incredible stories, it was his close relationships with others that he viewed as his greatest accomplishment. He prided himself on being a loyal friend and always made time for those he cared about. His true joy came from his family. He was married to his beloved wife Marcia for 40 years. He encouraged his children to explore what they were interested in and eagerly supported them in all their pursuits. He relished in being a grandfather and seeing his children become parents. A gifted storyteller, he was able to captivate any audience be it a full meeting room, a dinner table, or truly anyone he met. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, kind heart, natural charisma, impeccable style, insightful advice, and the way he brought people together.
Warren is survived by his wife, Marcia Negri; children, Warren A Negri III (Catherine), Tessa Gaines (Tanner), Ava Negri, and Lena Negri; his grandchildren, Kinsley, Nathaniel, Braelyn, and Nicholas; sister, Ann Herriger (Steve Chase); nephew, Mark Gertzof; and grandnephew, Daxton Gertzof.
Warren was a pillar in many people’s lives and the family welcomes those who love him to come together and celebrate his life on Sunday March 23rd. A service will be held in his honor at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Rd, Springfield, VA 22151 at 2 PM.
