Arnell Leslie Miles, 72, of Maryland Heights, MO passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, December 19, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Hazel (nee Watson) Miles. Arnell is survived by his loving wife, Susan (nee Bates) Miles; adoring children, Tammy (L. J.) Edwards of Topeka, KS, Obadiah Miles of St. Louis, and Rachel (Carlos) Scheer of St. Louis; adoring grandchildren, JeShon Edwards, Nevaeh Edwards, Shaylyn Scheer, and Cheyanne Scheer; and brothers, Walter and Wiley Miles.
Mr. Miles was a proud naval veteran of the Vietnam War and a charter member of the V.F.W. Post 6211 in Maryland Heights, MO. He was a selfless man who would do anything for his children. There was “nothing that was too much to ask for” where his children were concerned. Arnell was a dedicated family man who loved to garden and tinker with things around the house. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fixed. He enjoyed golfing and had an amazing hat collection. He will be missed by anyone who had the honor of knowing him.
Friends may visit on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Memorials are appreciated to the VFW Post 6211 and expressions of condolence may be offered at www.alexanderstlouis.com.
