Bachman, Clay Bachman, Terry (Clint) Aslin, and Leifann (Mike) Brownstein; cherished

grandmother of Sarah (Richard) Pascual, Lisa (Pete) Jones, Brian Bachman, Tony Aslin, Tara

Aslin, and Anna Aslin; great-grandmother of Ryan Pascual, and Lilly Pascual; step-grandmother

of Jesse Weissman, Marty Weissman, Deanna Smith, Jeff Smith, and Ralph Smith;

step-great-grandmother of Mia Jones, Michelle Smith, and Hunter Smith.

Elaine was born on November 17, 1930 in Rolla, Missouri. The middle daughter of

Ernest Wilson Carlton and Myrtle Marie Fleming Carlton and sister to the late Paul Fleming

Carlton, the late Patricia Carlton Kingsbury and sister in-law to Bobette Carlton. She attended

Rolla Public Schools.

She was Married in 1950 to the late William G Bachman for 20 years. Their marriage

union produced 6 children. She later completed her BS in Psychology at Lindenwood University

in Spring 1974. Elaine went on to receive her JD in law from Washington University in St. Louis

in December 1976. She practiced law with Anderson, Pruess & Zwibelman for 10 years and at

Snyder, Wier, Shaller & Bachman for an additional 10 years. She retired from full-time practice

in 2005.

Elaine enjoyed traveling around the world with family and friends. She has been a

member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Ferguson, Missouri for more than 60 years and

was active in the ECW (Episcopal Church Women) where she served as president for many

years. She also attended Saints Peter and Paul Independent Ecumenical Catholic Church.

A funeral service will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church on Monday, October 10

at 1:30. The family will accept friends in the parish hall at the church after the service.
