That smile! It is the first thing I picture when I hear Liz's name. Always willing to help. Always having an answer (or willing to find one). I could always call Liz (aka "Omniscient One") to find out what I needed to know (how to do it, where to find it, who to call, etc)! And RED! How true! Seems like she was always wearing red!

Liz was a very sweet woman, who was always so kind to our family.  Sean and I both had the pleasure of working with her at Principia College.  I can't scrapbook without thinking of her.  I'm sorry I couldn't make her memorial service, it was Zach's 8th grade dance.  A moment I'm sure she will encourage me to scrapbook!  I can't think of Liz without remembering her wit, smile, laugh, grace and principle.  Margaret, I cherish the weekends with you "girls" at the Guest House working on scrapbooks!  Please let me know if there's anything we can do for you!  Much love!

Red was Liz's favorite color, so Liz is often thought of when I see red roses, cherry candy or cherry-flavored soda pop, red Christmas sweaters, red hair clips or ribbons, and red three-ring binders.  Liz also loved gingerbread houses!  Liz knew that the kingdom of Love was within her, and she expressed this goodness to all.  She is certainly moving forward with grace.

Liz was one of my first grade school friends. We became friends in 1960 - so 51 years ago! wow. Through the years I was able to keep up with her life through her Mom and Margaret. We did get to visit at NHS class of '72 reunion picnics - which were faithfully attended by Liz, Margaret and Clara. It was so great to see Liz and Margaret at an all-classes reunion last year at St. Ann in Normandy! I am so thankful that they came and that we were able to actually sit and chat. I have lots of memories from childhood with Liz and her whole family including their beloved Dad, who took me and Liz for my first hot fudge sundae at Goody Goody on Natural Bridge. Sleepovers, the lake house, grade school days - all good memories with Liz who was a sweet little girl. Margaret has become a dear friend. I wish I could be there but know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love,

Margaret, I am sorry for your losses...for Liz and for Clara...two of the most caring, sharing, gentle people I have known.  The Marin women are a special gift!  You will be in my thoughts and prayers.  Let's stay in touch.

Liz was a lovely friend, colleague, and fellow church member.  I appreciated her sweet ways and ready good humor.  I won't be able to come to the service--will be at a Church Alive! meeting--and that's the way I'll think of Liz.  Loving regards to her family.

It was always a pleasure to see Liz and hear what she was doing next. Her ready smile and outgoing personality stood her (and others) in good stead in her church work. I especially loved her willingness to do new things.

Liz will always have a special place in my heart.  She has been one of my best friends for the past 32 years.  WOW 32 years!!!  Seems like it was just yesterday.  Liz will always be remembered by my four kids and myself.  She was one of the kindest most giving people that we have known.  She will live on through the Creative Memory Books that she helped create for three of my children.  She will remain in our hearts forever.  Liz was very loved and will be very missed.

Liz was a joy to be with. I will always recall the lunches we shared at Taco Bell for many years.  I especially appreciated Liz's energy and life as she took part in movie watching- solving mysteries and puzzling over dialogues.  Liz reminds me that eager participation is always a welcome blessing.  She was so capable and independent.  Her joy lives on.

Liz was such wonderful worker and colleague at Principia College.  She had so much institutional memory. She treated every request for information or help with grace and joy.
She was Village of Elsah clerk for a short period.  She brought the same skills and grace with her.
She will be missed and remembered as a model.
