

Joan Carol Bernard-Osment, age 80, of Bridgeton, Missouri passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Joan was born October 19, 1941, to Henry Fred and Anna B. (nee: Czmarko) Vasel. They have preceded her in death, as has her beloved husband Gerald Wayne Osment. Joan is survived by: her daughter Valerie Bernard-Compson (Jeffrey); her grandson Jasper Compson; her siblings: Betty Riner (the late Thomas), Henry Vasel (Doris), Helen Pitchford (Timothy), John Vasel, Kathleen Felstein (Steven), Christine Cummings (Dennis), nieces and nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews, brother and sisters in law, cousins, and many friends.
Joan enjoyed her career with Ralston Purina. She was an active member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Bridgeton, MO, and former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Waldenburg, AR. She previously volunteered for the Lutheran Braille Workers helping assemble Bibles for the Blind around the world. She was a Master Gardener who enjoyed creating, demonstrating, and educating horticulture best practices to communities and families.
Joan was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
