Ken is celebrating right now in Heaven! Go Hawks! Miss you bud <3

Ken played a big part in my life growing up.  He was my next-door neighbor in high school, we lived in the same dorm in college, and were roommates after college.  He even drove all the way from North Carolina to Oklahoma to attend my wedding.

 Ken was always sports-minded.  We spent endless hours throwing a football or a baseball.  He always had a great finesse,  whether it was his golf swing,  free throw, or a backhand.  Always a perfectionist, he always tried to improve his skills.  The one area that didn't need improvement was his sense of kindness and graciousness.  Ken was a great friend and will be sorely missed.


Ken was kind, gentle, easy going, a good friend to our boys. Living behind us in Chapel Hill, he was one of our neighborhood children. His presence among them will always be cherished. Our condolences to his family and our thoughts and prayers for them. 

I knew Ken from work. I met him in the office but I worked remotely in NC. One day when I was overwhelmed with work being new to this position I get a call. It was Ken and he mentioned the Tarheels. I never knew he was a Tarheel fan. It was so nice having someone at work to talk to that shared my love. He told me about memories there in Chapel Hill and after a game we’d email each other about it. I am glad I was able to know him. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys. -Amy 

Ken was the best human being I've ever known. He was my good friend and brother. We built hot wheels tracks throughout our parent's house in Seattle as kids when it rained; rode our bikes around many wooded trails. We were roommates 3 different times as young adults; and both worked in restaurants for many years. In several cases we worked at the same restaurants at the same time. He hired me as a waiter when I needed a job. He was a natural, unlike me. Everyone loved Ken the minute they met him.  He is revered by the restaurant owners he worked for, and the staff. He had a golf swing like Ernie Els; slow, but he would crush it because he was so strong. I want you to know , he had a great life.

We were roommates when he met Stacey, the love of his life. He quickly moved to St. Louis. He was very proud of Stacey, Dustin, Danielle, Chelsea and Taylor. And he made many new friends that he mentioned often. I'm thankful that he had time to get fully into raising a family with Stacey, which he always wanted, and getting a new set of great friends. There aren't words for how much I'll miss him.

I met Ken at work, I trained him at Drury.  He made each day at work so much fun. He worked so hard, was so witty, very humble and always kind. He was always having issues with his computer and he said Bettlejuice was in his computer.  He knew I had to check his emails while he was off one day and changed his desktop to a picture of Bettlejuice for me. I laughed all day. He lived for his family and took such pride in being a husband, son -in -law and father and grandpa. There was never a more sweet, funny, honorable, kind and genuine, person on this earth. I was so lucky to call him my friend. 

Ken was an amazing husband, stepfather and grandpa. He was funny and enjoyed giving me a hard time and I loved every second of it. I was lucky to be his daughter and my son was lucky to have a grandpa like him. I will miss him so much and love him forever and always. 

Every morning when I would come into work, Ken was always there with a smile on his face. He was a genuine, kind-hearted person who loved taking care of others. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.  -- Alison Casler

I had the pleasure of working with Ken at Drury Hotels corporate office. What a gem of a human being. His love for his family was evident and he will be sorely missed.
