Mr. Kenneth C. Sherwood

Sherwood, Kenneth C., 87, of Marietta, GA died Friday Feb. 19, 2010 from complications resulting from a fall suffered in November. Visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Home 11101 St. Charles Rock Rd., St. Ann, MO Wed. Feb. 24, 6-9 PM. Graveside services Thur. Feb 25, Calvary Cemetery 11:00 AM (Please meet at the cemetery). Mr. Sherwood was born in St. Louis Mo on May 14, 1922. His family moved to his grandmother’s farm in Marthasville, MO while he was a child. Following graduation from Warrenton High School, he found employment in St. Louis at Curtis-Wright Corp. but soon found himself serving in the Army during World War II. He received a purple heart during his service. Following the war, he returned to St. Louis and married Virginia Aubuchon. Two children resulted from this union. In 1969, his company relocated his to Big Spring, TX as part of a company consolidation. His first wife passed away in 1983 and Mr. Sherwood later married Joyce Richardson, who also preceded him in death. In 2004, Mr. Sherwood moved to Marietta, GA to live with his eldest son. Mr. Sherwood is survived by his two sons, Robert Eugene Sherwood of Marietta, GA and Charles Paul Sherwood of Livonia MI, and by his three step-sons, Charles Ray Richardson of San Antonio TX, Kary Richardson of Brownsville TX and Daryl Richardson of Big Spring TX, and their families and by numerous nieces and nephews.
