
Lowell Carlyle Beauchamp born on March 16, 1930 in Belle, MO, entered into Heavenly rest on November 23, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlyle Allen Beauchamp and Tillie Myrtle (nee Wilcox) Beauchamp and his adopted daughter, Rita Mae (Jerry) Wilson; and her son, Eric. Lowell is survived by his loving wife, Lois Gail (nee Todd) Beauchamp; children, Richard Lowell (Paula) Beauchamp, Timothy Lynn (Jeanne) Beauchamp, Tamara Jane (James); and grandchildren, Danielle, Tiffany, Hillary, and Ryan, Stephan, Jessica, Jacquline, Jonathan, and Joshua, Emily, Tyler, and Trent, and Jerry Jr., Heather, and Eric; and 19 great grandchildren. Lowell loved his wife of 64 years, his children, all of his grandchildren, his church family, T & L Tree Service, and fishing!
Lowell attended Harding College in the Fall of 1948 and became a devoted Christian in 1949. He then transferred to Henderson State College in 1951 and graduated with a BS in Education in 1952. He proudly served in the US Navy from September 1952 until his honorable discharge in August of 1956. Lowell then met and married the love of his life, Lois Gail Todd on December 9, 1952 in Maryland Heights, MO and began his family. After 3 of their own children, they adopted Rita Mae in 1970.
Lowell was a leader and top educator in St. Louis. He taught at DeSmet Elementary School in Ferguson-Florissant School District for 8 years from 1956 to 1963 during which time he earned his Masters in Administration from SIU in Edwardsville, IL. Lowell was the principal at Bermuda Elementary in the Ferguson-Florissant School District from 1963 until his retirement in 1982.
As a devoted Christian, Lowell was a founding father of the Florissant Church of Christ which he started in June of 1958. He served as an elder in the church for 42 years. He was also the co-founder of Camp Ne-o-tez established in 1962 to train youth to walk with Christ. In 1971, Lowell was the co-owner of T & L Tree Service. He will be missed and always held in high regard.
Friends may visit on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at Florissant Church of Christ at 16460 New Halls Ferry Rd in Florissant. Funeral service to be held at the church at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
