Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Wood, her siblings, Nadine Dixon and R.D. Sonneborn; and her beloved grandson, Nathan Wood.
She is survived by her children, Lynn Hayward (Doug), Kimberly Maschmidt (Eugene), and David Wood (Lisa). Marilyn was a proud and devoted grandmother to 15 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to 35 great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply.
Marilyn was a faithful member of Fee Fee Baptist Church for over 50 years. Her strong faith guided her life—she found comfort in reading her Bible and was devoted to praying for her family. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her loved ones, especially visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Marilyn’s memory to Fee Fee Baptist Church or Evelyn’s House.
Private interment will take place at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
A celebration of life for Marilyn will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 10:30 am at Fee Fee Baptist Church, 11330 St Charles Rock Rd, Bridgeton, MO 63044.
