
Mark was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. After 22 years of service, Mark retired as a MSgt., and continued a passion for aviation acquiring his pilot’s license, and various ratings. Along with his brother Bernie, they purchased and flew their 1940’s Stearman biplane. His passion for aviation led him to Sullivan, MO where he was the airport manager then to Raleigh, NC where he brokered aircraft. In 2008 he went to Wichita, KS to be with his son and family, and there he met his wife Jenny. Together they enjoyed travel, flying, spending time at their lake house and most importantly being with family.
His father Bernard Groceman, mother Cuba Melton, brother Steven Groceman, 2 sisters Joan Hastings and Jane Fernandez precede Mark in death.
He is survived by his wife Jenny Kittle Groceman; son Sean Groceman, step daughter Jaymie Kittle, step son Justin Kittle, brothers Bernard, Tony and Tommy Groceman, sisters Anna Harper, Marsha Berry, Judy Hastings and Janet Brooks, three grandchildren Olivia and Jack Groceman and John Mark Kittle II.
Services will be held at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074. The Wake is Thursday June 8th from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. The Funeral service will be Friday June 9th 11:00 a.m. with the Internment immediately following at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
