Norma Elizabeth Thies, age 92, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022. She was born February 15, 1930 to Crawford and Laura (nee: Stark) Nelson. They have preceded her in death, as has her beloved husband Edgar H., her daughter Sheryl Cross (Dan survives), and her brother Wilmer "Bud" Nelson. Norma is survived by: her children: Darrell (Cindy), Dave (Fran), Phyllis (Walter) Martinez; her grandchildren: Laura (Alex) Blanco, Sarah Ceti, Erin (Alex) Ivanov, Anne Thies, Kathy (Josh) Franks, Mark Thies, Kimberly Thies, Phillip Martinez; her great-grandchildren: Lesyk, Shelby, Maksym, and Aiden.
Norma was an active life-long member of Immanuel United Church of Christ - Ferguson, and was in charge of one of the catering committees at the church. She enjoyed being a poll worker and community volunteer. She was well known in the community for her walking. She was an animal lover. She enjoyed her family, especially laughing together over a good meal. Norma and her husband Edgar owned and operated Thies Farm for over 25 years - he was the fourth generation owner-operator.
