Boyd earned a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Missouri - Columbia. He spent his career in service in a variety of social work and counseling roles. Boyd was a lifelong athlete, a high school and college wrestler (part of the NCAA Big 8 at the time), avid sailor, swimmer and long-time member of the St. Louis Imperial Dance Club and the Jewish Community Center. A private graveside service will be held at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, St. Ann, Mo. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
