

Arthur Hector Couvreur, Age 86, passed away at home on November 29, 2012 after a lengthy struggle with cancer. Born September 4, 1926 in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, Art is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Winifred “née Proffitt” Couvreur, 7 children and their spouses: Robert of Smyrna, Georgia; Diane of Rochester Hills; James and Elizabeth of Prescott, Arizona; Kathleen and Robert Crowdus of Lexington, Kentucky; Thomas of Franklin; John Devine of Franklin Hills; David and Dori of East Grand Rapids; and Michelle and David Skiba of Golden, Colorado; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Art was a veteran of World War II and served in the Philippines and Korea. He was a builder of homes on the east side of Detroit for many years, and in later years sold commercial real estate. He was an avid outdoors man, enjoying his time fishing and hunting in Michigan. He had a love of music, singing in the church choir and playing the piano where ever the opportunity presented itself; including nursing homes and hospitals. He was a devoted husband and father. His greatest joy was his family and the many outings and holidays they spent together. His memorial is his legacy and the wonderful memories we all will cherish forever. Visitation Saturday 3-7 pm and Sunday 2-7 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores. Funeral service Monday 10 am at the funeral home.
