Bert Warren Mull

Bert Warren Mull, age 82, passed away on March 12, 2025. He was born on March 5, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan to his late parents Ed and Maybelle Mull. Bert was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary. He is survived by his loving children: William (Anne), Robert (Sarah), Alyssa; dear grandchildren: Katherine, Emma, Sara, Nola, Brooklyn, Madison; great-grandchildren: Trevor, Vincent, Frank, and Noah; brother: Ken; and Sister-in-Law: Louise.

Bert was a Detroit Police Officer retiring as a Master Sergeant. He epitomized the role of the 1970s urban detective and his family and friends cherish these memories. He was a protector, and he kept his family going with his acts of service, always helping as long as was able to do so.

He loved cars and enjoyed taking on old ones, nursing them along, and driving around. His granddaughters vividly recall being picked up from school in whatever old car he was driving at the time.

He was funny and amiable and those who have met him can recall how easy it was to talk with him. He truly loved his wife and never moved past losing her unexpectedly.

The family plans to gather privately this summer and honor both Bert and Mary together.
