Loved this guy.  Always upbeat and friendly.  He will truly be missed by one and all. 

So back in the early 80’s, several of us were having last call at Rustics.  Brian was there and insisted on taking the Sindbad’s tug out for an early morning cruse.  Needless-to-say we were all pie-eyed after endless beers.  Finally docked about 5:30 am.  It was a night to remember and Brian made it the highlight of the morning (can’t say evening as we were will beyond that).

So sorry to hear about Brian.  Cute & sweet!   I always had my eyes on him.  😉 He’s with Wilma (jaja)  in heaven now cooking up some trouble.  RIP.  Prayers and hugs from our family to yours.

Condolences to the Blancke family on your loss. So many good times and memories at Sindbad’s through the years.

Brian was a true friend as is Marc. Brian once got us in Sinbads when it was full. He was that kind of person. He knew we loved Sinbads and never wanted to see us leave because it was full. He came to my table another time and sat down to tell me chopped sirloin was being taken off the menu, he said i was one of only a few who ordered it. He wanted me to know why.  I live in Louisiana now and don't make it back much but when I do I will tip one at the bar in his memory. I am truly sorry and I know he will be misssed.  All our best to the family.

I was the Health Department Inspector for Sindbad's from about 1999 - 2003, and I recall him as friendly and sincerely desiring to correct any food safety issues I identified.

We are all deeply saddened in having to say goodbye to Brian too soon. I send love and comforting hugs to the Blancke family and his Sindbad's family.  I will always see him smiling in my memories and hear him laughing.   Sail on Captain Brian, a piece of my heart goes with you. 



Brian was lucky enough to be born a Blancke, a member of  a great American family. I consider myself along with many others extremely fortunate to have grown up with the Blancke family. I would like to thank Brian and the entire Blancke family for all they have done for me, my family and many others. May he Rest In Peace.

Brian was a wonderful man as I remember him .My dad knew his father very well and introduced us to Sindbads at a very young age. We continued to go to the restaurant for many years and Brian was always there to welcome us . We are very sad to hear of his passing and our prayers and thoughts are with his family. After all these years, when I think about High School, one of the first names that comes to mind is Brain Blancke and Sinbads.  The image I conjure always includes that huge smile of yours and a warm feeling of friendship and fun in our early years.  While I haven't seen you in many, many, many moons, my heart breaks for your immediate family (my boys lost there Dad very early) and my prayers and condolences go out to your whole family.

Brian and I were runnin buddies back in the day.  We had some good times that I will never forget.  I'm sure he wouldn't want me to commiserate over his passing, but remember those time, which I will.  Godspeed Brian.

When I’m asked to smile for a picture, I always think of Brian’s smile and try my best to imitate it.  It’s never as good.

Brian was such a nice and funny guy!! He was a great neighbor who continually smiled and laughed even thru his really rough times. I will miss our “driveway” chats and his wave as he was leaving for work or going to play golf.  Peace be with you and your family.

I am so very sorry to receive this news...Brian touched so many people with his smile, always a good word - and a dry sense of humor.
