Caden Flynn Ahrens, age 27, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving parents, Timothy and Jennifer Ahrens; caring brother, Layne Ahrens, and dear grandparents, Cheryl (Steve) Smark, Susan Jeffrey, Timothy (Margie) Conn, and Timothy (Debbie) Ahrens. Also left to cherish his memory are many loving family and friends.
Caden grew up in St. Clair Shores, MI where he graduated from Lakeshore High School with honors in 2017. In his younger years, he played hockey and baseball. He attended Wayne State University where he studied economics and Japanese.
Caden enjoyed collecting records, cards and figures that were influenced by Japanese culture. His interest in Japanese culture inspired Caden and his brother, Layne to take a two week vacation to Japan. Caden spent his final days at home watching Anime movies and listening to soundtracks with his family.
From a very young age, Caden was a gamer. He enjoyed playing video games and tabletop games with his friends. Music was also a huge part of Caden’s life, he was a talented musician and avid record collector.
Caden loved his job at Trader Joe’s where he was able to interact with customers and coworkers while spreading his kindness. He enjoyed it when customers brought their dogs to shop and loved sharing stories about his dogs, Louis and Sabrina with them.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Caden’s gofundme to help cover funeral costs and medical expenses or All About Animals in Caden’s name.
Caden will be remembered for his kind and compassionate heart. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation, Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until time of memory sharing service at 3:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores.
