

Charles was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a Catholic, a member of the knights of Columbus, and an active volunteer along side his wife Mary at their parish. He was a journeyman carpenter and had a creative mind for building stairways and other household structures in tight spaces. He was an avid hunter. He enjoyed playing billiards, card games and growing a garden. He loved to dance at weddings and enjoyed singing Christmas carols at holiday parties. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Charles Alexander McGuckin, age 80, passed away on February 7, 2025. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 25, 1944 to his late parents Charles and Arlene. Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary. He is survived by his loving children: Stacey (Nino) Phillips, the late Charles, Mike (the late Lori), Vaughan (Stefanya), Amy (Justin) Pudelek, Henry (Christina); dear grandchildren: Dominic (Julie), Nicholas, Destiny (Aaron), Tevis, Addison, Connor, Veronica, Stella; and siblings: Terry, Mary, Mike, Paul, Leo, and Joanne. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. (Instate 9:00 a.m.) at Assumption Grotto Church, 13770 Gratiot Ave., Detroit. A private burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp.
